The Colston Hall Young Companies in Residence is a talent development programme for young classical musicians and young creative musicians age 8-17.
The Colston Hall Young Companies in Residence programme aims to give talented young musicians a world-class music education to encourage a professional career in music. This includes masterclasses and side-by-side performances with visiting international artists such as John Eliot Gardiner’s English Baroque Soloists and drum and bass innovator, Goldie.
The Bristol Youth Orchestra is the city’s flagship instrumental ensemble featuring over 70 of the most talented young musicians in Bristol.
The orchestra rehearses weekly and performs the great works of the orchestral repertoire as well as ambitious new commissions at Colston Hall. Bristol Youth Orchestra is a member of the Association of British Orchestras and strives to give young musicians a professional orchestral experience and support careers in music.

Bristol Youth Choir is the city’s flagship choral group for ages 7-19 made up of three choirs with over a hundred and twenty young people from all over Bristol performing choral music of all styles.
Giving up to five concerts a year, the Bristol Youth Choir have also appeared on BBC Breakfast, The One Show, BBC One’s Songs of Praise and in 2015 broadcast on Radio 3 and BBC Bristol as part of BBC Music Day 2015.
