Singer-songwriter Tom Hickox comes from great musical stock – his father, Richard Hickox CBE, was one of Britain’s most renowned conductors (a Grammy award winner with over 280 recordings to his credit). Beyond the lineage, Hickox Jr has been named “the most powerful and original lyrical songwriter this country has produced in years” (The Telegraph). His heart-wrenching vocals have been likened to Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, and his “magnetic storytelling and vibrant melodies” (Uncut) have been described as “a dark mixture of Scott Walker and a David Lynch soundtrack” (Louder Than War). Brooding and beautiful, Hickox delivers “literate chamber pop at its most haunting, poetic and complex” (The Sunday Times).
This is a seated show at The Wardrobe Theatre.
