The Thing

Colston Hall on the road at The Exchange

Scandinavian garage jazz trio The Thing fuse “the freedom of jazz with the controlled power of rock” (The Quietus). Taking tracks by the likes of PJ Harvey, The White Stripes, and The Stooges, the experimental threesome “turns these standards inside out, revealing their raw power and pure strength” (New City Music). Their “stripped-down, raucous” (The Wire) sound has won over jazz and rock fans across the globe, and their undeniable talent has led to collaborations with Thurston Moore, Neneh Cherry and Jim O’Rourke.

The Thing are supported by “acerbic, razor-edged” (AAJ) Istanbul jazz outfit KONSTRUKT and Bristol jazz improvisers Calcine Trio.
