The Cinematic Orchestra

Simple Things lure “suave electro-jazz pioneers” (BBC Music) The Cinematic Orchestra to Colston Hall for a live appearance. TCO were formed in 1999 by former Ninja Tune employee J Swinscoe, who pulled together a group of jazz players for debut Motion, voted album of the year on Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio One show. Their most recent album, Ma Fleur, released almost a decade ago, was praised by The Guardian for eliciting “a sense of space; an absence of clutter, an enrapturing hush”and is, they say, “an immensely moving, utterly distinct night-time world which is a pleasure to inhabit”.
