The Battle of the Organs

Festival favourites, organists Malcolm Archer and David Bednall return to the Clifton International Festival in a high-energy showcase of music for the king of instruments.

Listen and be amazed as themes from traditional plainchant to Disney take on a new lease of life, re-imagined by two of the country’s most skilful improvisers before your chance to choose the tunes you’d like to hear under their fingertips.

You won’t miss a second of the action followed on the big screen as the organists go head to head in this fast-paced feat of musical skill and agility.

Explore more: ‘There’s no such thing as improvisation’ – David Bednall shines a light on the art of improvisation, its history, how to do it, and whether it exists at all.
