Stephen Johnson & English Piano Trio

A Genius Revealed Chamber Concert

“Lyrically lucid, humane and simple” was Pravda’s verdict on Shostakovich’s Op. 57, a powerful Piano Quintet requiring the English Piano Trio to super-size ahead of the Dresden Philharmonic’s account of the 5th Symphony on the 17th – a work directly implicated in its pensively sombre fugal Adagio.
