Bristol’s premier multi-venue music festival returns for 2019 with a unique programme high on innovation and cutting edge talent. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience upwards of forty acts across the full spectrum of Bristol’s venues with six different sites and 12 stages of music, two of which are located in Colston Hall’s iconic foyer.
Headlining the Day programme this year (Sat 19 Oct) will be Holly Herndon, presenting her brand new show PROTO. Created together with a longlist of collaborators including Jlin and her longstanding creative partner Mat Dryhurst as well as their ‘AI child’ Spawn, PROTO is a deeply affecting audio-visual spectacular that is not to be missed.
Also appearing on the Saturday are the intricate productions and future-facing sound designs of Aisha Devi as well as Hyperdub boss Kode9 and legendary animator Kōji Morimoto presenting an AV performance inspired by Japanese video game music. Post-punk and Factory Records pioneers A Certain Ratio will also play, as well Ghanaian highlife icon Ata Kak and more than forty other acts including Nilüfer Yanya, Murlo (AV), Big Joanie, Melt Yourself Down, Snapped Ankles, and Biig Piig.
For 2019, as PRS Foundation Talent Development Partners, we’ve linked up with Simple Things to champion emerging new music creators across the two stages located at Colston Hall.
