Producer Uncovered: Ableton Live Beginners

Ableton Live is a revolutionary approach to music creation and performance allowing ideas to be combined, edited and arranged on-the-fly. Ableton bridges the gap between studio and performance, offering the tools of traditional production software with a stable, intuitive interface that encourages experimentation and live use.

Producer Uncovered: Ableton Live will enable you to get to grips with this powerful and innovative package, giving you a straightforward way to get your ideas down, experiment and produce a finished track.

Sessions will take place on Tuesdays, 7-10pm, starting on 13th October for 10 weeks.

This course is suitable for beginners, or those experienced with other music packages that want to learn Ableton and covers;

Technical Skills

  • Recording audio and midi
  • Time-stretching and meter
  • Software instruments

Creative Development

  • Sketching ideas
  • Loop and scene management
  • Live arranging

Performance Development

  • Live on stage
  • Midi controllers (using Akai APC20)
  • Live and deejaying
