Michael Kiwanuka

With his 2016 album, Love and Hate, Mercury nominee Michael Kiwanuka “has found a troubled, compelling voice with an emotional honesty and stately self-assurance” (The Guardian). It’s been a long time coming – four years, in fact, since the release of his debut, Home Again – but Kiwanuka has drafted in heavyweight producer Danger Mouse to “seriously up the ante” (NME). The Telegraph calls it “a dazzling melting pot of sound” while the Evening Standard commends its “suite of lushly orchestrated soul”.
