Lau-Land

Update: For a full weekend schedule including timings for the host of free events and workshops taking place and the main shows, please see below.

The UK’s most musically revered contemporary folk trio, Lau, invite you to take a trip into their musical world,  presenting artists that inspire them in a festival spanning three nights. Desert blues, San Franciscan folk-rock and innovative roots music coalesce to build a new sonic world in the heart of Bristol – welcome to Lau-Land.

Over the last decade Lau have become one of Scottish music’s international success stories and are regarded as the epicentre of the new folk boom.

The band curate this thrilling lineup which brings together Sun Kil Moon (songwriter and actor Mark Kozelek whose album Benji topped critics’ polls in 2014), a giant of world music in the shape of Tinariwen , and of course a main hall set from Lau. The landscape is completed by music workshops and talks throughout the weekend.

Notice: for an update on Omar Souleyman being unable to perform at Lau-Land, please see the event page: https://www.colstonhall.org/shows/tinariawen-and-lau/
