Back by popular demand, The Jazz Dames will celebrate the life, music, composition and spirit of Ms Peggy Lee.
Norma Deloris Engstrom (1920 – 2002), known professionally as Peggy Lee, was an American jazz singer, songwriter, composer, and actress, in a career spanning six decades. From her beginning as a vocalist on local radio to singing with Benny Goodman’s big band, she forged a sophisticated persona, evolving into a multi-faceted artist and performer. During her career, she composed over 300 hundred songs, she wrote music for films, acted, and recorded conceptual albums that combined poetry and music.
This year the incredible pianist and composer Rebecca Nash is taking the Musical Director ’s seat, with a stellar line up of Bristol musicians.
