Iconic American jazz saxophonist Gary Bartz is nothing short of legendary. Working with the likes of Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Miles Davis and Art Blakey, Bartz solo career flourished in the 1970s, where he became one of the forefathers of the fusion movement.
He has recorded more than 40 solo albums and over 200 as a guest artist and continues to collaborate with forward-thinking musicians. Currently working with the UK’s leading spiritual jazz outfit, Maisha, “this is a rare opportunity to see a master in his element and to see the passing along of the flame between generations and movements” (Rhythm Passport).
