The Full English Project Digital Archive Demonstration

Before Dave Swarbrick takes to the stage in the Lantern, Malcolm Taylor OBE, the director of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, gives a talk about The Full English project, the world’s biggest free digital archive of English traditional folk music and dance tunes.

The talk will include a demonstration of the digital archive at work as well as information about the collections and processes involved in bringing together the archive partners and manuscripts for this flagship project.

The Full English is possibly the most exciting and significant thing to happen to British folk music in at least a generation… To give everyone the keys to the archive of our common heritage will be an invaluable inspiration to generations of musicians and writers.
