Free Foyer Performance – Groovelator

The Groovelator sound comes from the very best moments of the Hammond organ’s illustrious history as the engine of gospel, soul, funk and jazz. Keyboard maestro John Paul Gard – one of the very few Hammond players able to deliver foot pedal bass in the traditional way – catches the authentic swirl of the instrument’s unique sound in a vibrant interplay with Mark Lawrence’s fusion guitar and the lock-tight drumming of Tom Gilkes.

John Paul Gard studied at Coventry University where tutors included Jason Rebello and Dave Buxton.  He performed with Andreas Öberg at the IGG Festival, has appeared with Alex Hutchings at Musikmesse and Glastonbury Festival and is well known for his work with Eddie Martin, Mike Britton and Esmond Selwyn across the United Kingdom and in Europe. John Paul is endorsed by The KEYB Organ Group and the Ketron Music Group.
