Fat Freddy’s Drop

Old-school reggae blends with Pacific soul, jazz, ska and electronica as the laidback Kiwis treat us to one of their renowned live shows.

The purveyors of “blissfully epic jams” (DJ Magazine) may have dominated their native New Zealand record charts with debut album Based On A True Story, and garnered rave reviews for its follow-up, Dr Boondigga And The Big BW. But it’s on the live circuit that Fat Freddy’s Drop really flourish. Expect a show where this multi-talented bunch “lock onto grooves for often 15 minutes or more” (BBC Music) and “the vibe is ultimately horizontal” (iDJ).
