Calling all young musicians! Hoo-Ha festival needs you to help celebrate Colston Hall’s 150th Birthday in style.

Come and play the music of the greats such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Ennio Morricone (legendary composer music for spaghetti westerns), plus many more, in a series of free workshops led by Bristol’s most eclectic musical collective, The Fantasy Orchestra.

This will be nothing like a formal, term-time ensemble: this is a unique opportunity to let loose on your instrument and perform with this orchestra with a difference, exploring the music of film, rock, jazz and improvisation with bucket loads of fun thrown in!

The workshops will culminate in a special performance at Colston Hall’s children’s birthday party, the Nifty 150 Birthday Bash. Participants therefore gain free entry to the birthday bash, plus entry for one accompanying adult.

Recommended for young musicians of grade 3 and up, all instrumentalists are welcome to take part with players of string, brass and woodwind especially encouraged. Singers can join too but some ability to read music is essential.
