Dakhla Brass weave glittering threads into intricate musical tapestries like no other band. Propelled by restless percussion, their sound is one that’s hard to define. Not quite jazz, not quite hip-hop, not quite Arabian or second-line Mardi Gras and yet it’s all those things and more.Pumping with the excited surge of a carnival crowd while crafting each note with the precision of a colliery band, Dakhla Brass illuminate the stage with the kind of artful freedom that people board planes to New Orleans for.
Combined with young and exciting British guitarist, Remi Harris and his idiosyncratic style. Largely self-taught and influenced by gypsy swing, jazz, blues, rock and electronica, he’s made quite a mark on the gypsy jazz scene.Over the years he synthesised those influences into a singular style of playing that has seen him tour the world and perform to captivated audiences at venues like Buckingham Palace and iconic events like the BBC Proms.
