Bristol’s home of music celebrates 150 years of spectacular live performance with a fabulous – free – party to which you’re all invited.
Join us on a journey through music as the halls and foyers are filled with a host of artists tipping their hat to the glorious sounds that have graced the Hall over the years.
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, The Bruce / Ilett Big Band,Bristol Reggae Orchestra, Bristol Ensemble, Limbic Cinema, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bristol Choral Society, Wanted Records’ DJ John Stapleton and other friends will all be on hand to help us celebrate as acts pop up to create a unique party atmosphere, with The Voice’s Tanya Lacey as compère. Raise a glass to our much loved Hall and the great sonic adventure of the past 150 years.
We love an excuse to dress up, so we encourage you to dig out your best party wear for the occasion, whether that means just donning a modest party hat, or kitting yourself out in the style of your favourite era from the last century and a half.
Rice n Things will bring the tastiest Caribbean flavours to our party from their restaurant in Stokes Croft and will be cooking up their Jamaican classics outside our entrance to test and tickle your taste buds.
Our big Birthday Bash takes place 150 years to the day from when the doors first opened, and is our big thank you to you, our wonderful audience, for collaborating with us on a marvellous century and a half of musical exploration.
