Andy Williamson and the Erebus Ensemble

In this landmark concert for the Clifton International Festival of Music, Jazz virtuoso Andy Williamson combines with The Erebus Ensemble for an evening of Polyphonic Jazz! One of the country’s up-and-coming early music groups presents a programme of Renaissance favourites on which Andy and friends will improvise in a concert that takes Westminster Cathedral to Ronnie Scott’s and back again!

The programme will feature some fifteenth century works based on the rhythmic modes of the period – in many ways an early precursor to the Jazz genre, and some more familiar Renaissance gems such as Allegri’s stunning setting of Psalm 51, Miserere mei Deus.

This concert is being recorded for radio broadcast.
