MLSW Legacy Training - Child Protection Awareness Training

MLSW Legacy Training - Child Protection Awareness Training - Thursday 13th December

EVENT EXPIRED
MLSW Awareness Training

As this training is so important for music leaders working with children, young people and vulnerable adults it will be highly subsidised by MLSW legacy funding, the Musicians Union and from Music Matters, Bristol’s Musical Inclusion programme and will be offered for £10 to participants to enable as many music leaders to access it as possible.

Facilitated by expert Rosie Brown, this workshop offers a comprehensive overview of current legislation and gives practical advice to those who teach so that they have the necessary skills and resources to work safely with children. The workshops are tailored to the specific needs of the attendees and include group activities, case studies and a chance to examine legislation.

Aims:
• To develop awareness of, and the ability to act on concerns about, the safety and welfare of children and young people.
• To develop awareness of safer working practices for musicians who work with young people.

Learning outcomes: by the end of the training participants will be aware of:
• What to do if they have concerns about children, including those who are suffering, or at risk of suffering, significant harm;
• What will happen once they have informed someone about those concerns;
• The framework within which children’s welfare is safeguarded and promoted;
• Understand how they can develop safer working practices.

Places are limited to 20 so book now!
