BBC Jazz and Mercury Music Prize nominated and MOBO award-winning hard bop saxophonist Denys Batiste has carved out a successful career as a major artist and composer on the UK Jazz scene. A graduate of Tomorrow's Warriors, he has performed with Courtney Pine, Jazz Jamaica Allstars, Ernest Ranglin, Gregory Isaacs, Juliet Roberts and The Jazz Warriors.
Denys leads his rejuvinated quartet, demonstrating his phenomenal command of tone and timing. This fantastic quartet includes superb Hancock-esque BBC award-winning pianist Andrew McCormack, Jazz Jamaica bassist Gary Crosby and drummer Rod Youngs. The
energetic and eclectic collection of new compositions that draw from a broad palette, taking in Caribbean, American and African influences.
Performances this Autumn include appearances at this years London Jazz Festival before heading to the studio in December to record the eagerly awaited album set for release in April/May 2010.
