Mahler Symphony No 2 “Resurrection”
Rutter Feel the Spirit

Conductor Stefan Hofkes
Contralto Joke de Vin
Soprano Colette Lam

A performance of Gustav Mahler's epic and rousing “Resurrection” symphony is always an experience not to be missed. Mahler spent six years perfecting this symphony and with it he changed the musical landscape forever. Combining huge orchestral forces with a large choir and vocal soloists, the work takes the listener from early solemnity to an absolute high on a scale not seen before.

"Time stood still" was the press's reaction to Dutch mezzo Joke de Vin's singing of the central "Urlicht" movement and she will join some of Bristol's foremost musical forces for this concert conducted by Stefan Hofkes.
-This concert will have an interval
