Worlds Elsewhere

Soprano Sarah Leonard returns to Bristol following her highly acclaimed appearance at Colston Hall with John Harle last February. She is joined by pianist Stephen Gutman and members of the Bristol Ensemble to give two world premieres written specially for her: Sulyen Caradon’s Elsewhere and Jolyon Laycock’s Dark Seas which exploits the extraordinary coloratura range and emotional sensitivity of her remarkable voice. The programme also features songs by SCA composers Steven Kings, Julian Leeks and Trevor Jones, as well as John Cage’s Aria for Voice and George Crumb’s magical and atmospheric Eleven Echoes Of Autumn.
