Pig Records was created by Bristol-based saxophonist and composer Kevin Figes as an outlet for his original contemporary jazz projects. From the labels initial release in 2010 an impressive array of performers have collaborated with Kevin, interpreting his music on a succession of recordings and live work. Each release has offered something new and all have received excellent national reviews.
Tonight’s show is a celebration of the release of two new recordings by the Kevin Figes Quartet+ and the Octet, together with the first proper launch of the label. As well as performances from these acts, fellow Pig Records artists Jim Blomfield Trio, Balanca and Simon Presto are also on the bill.
Come and celebrate with these amazing musicians, whose performances will be accompanied by great visuals and free cup cakes.
Two new recordings, “Weather Warning” by the Quartet and “Time Being” by the Octet, will be released on 10th April 2016.
