Free Foyer Performance – Mike Collins Quartet

    18:15 - 19:15

Lyrical Bath based pianist Mike Collins’ quartet play his distinctive, evocative and melodic European-tinged contemporary jazz originals alongside less played compositions, plus an occasional standard. Their 2015 album ‘And Suddenly Evening’, a follow up to the warmly received release ‘Suite Gorgeous’, received a raft of generous reviews and one track was featured on Radio 3’s Jazz Line –Up.

The band also includes saxophonist Len Aruliah: UK born and growing up in Vancouver, Len splits his time between London and Canada. A versatile musician he’s toured with Gene Pitney, played theatre in the West End, world music, and with the riotous Hackney Colliery Brass Band. He’s a powerfully lyrical saxophonist, with a strong contemporary edge who also writes and performs with his own bands.
