Lubomyr Melnyk + Douglas Dare

Part of Erased Tapes is ten

Continuous music pioneer Lubomyr Melnyk‘s compositions, which have been likened to God Speed You Black Emperor! and Explosions in The Sky, are soaring odes to “droning ambience and phantom melodies” (Pitchfork). Regarded as one of the world’s fastest concert pianists, Lubomyr uses his own unique language for the piano to weave spiraling compositions that carry the listener to new realms and “make your heart tingle” (The Guardian).

Described as “richly emotive and beguilingly, bewitchingly uneasy” (The Clash), Douglas Dare’s haunting voice and raw lyrics have led to comparisons with Thom Yorke, James Blake and Anohni. Dare’s latest album, Aforger, continually explores the “juxtaposition between his delicate voice and the brutal messages he conveys” (Pitchfork). Elegantly moody and suffused with heartache, Dare’s sound is endlessly “solitary, passionate and moving” (The Line of Best Fit).

This is a seated show.
