Canadian sonic experimenter Daniel Lanois has distilled decades of musical graft as a producer (Brian Eno, Bob Dylan, U2, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris) into his own contribution as a recording artist.
He conjured his bewitching instrumental album ‘Goodbye To Language’ in 2016 from the deceptively simple combination of pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar and the subsequent electronic manipulation of the music, generating dream-like soundscapes reminiscent of 20th century Impressionist composers and more modern ambient creations. Expect a hypnotic – yet unpredictable – audiovisual experience.
Support from experimental composer/producer Will Plowman and ambient loop-building guitarist Stereocilia.
