Ansien: Part One

John Bence & Concanenda

Bristol electro-acoustic composer John Bence joins forces with Cambridge chamber choir Concanenda to present the world premiere of Ansien, a transformative new music experience that finds sound travelling and morphing in innovative ways.

Ways of listening and the distinctions between acoustic and digital realms become reframed and reinvigorated across two of Bristol’s finest venues, as day becomes night across the city.

Part One will see the nine-piece Concanenda choir debut a new sacred choral piece written and scored by John Bence as well as a selection of other works in the hallowed acoustic space of St George’s Bristol, while Part Two sees a live reimaging of the same piece performed at The Cube Cinema.
