Four to eleven year olds from Bristol are invited to ‘get inspired’ about music by taking part in hands-on music-making workshops this half term at Colston Hall.
Children will take part in fun singing, song-writing and percussion workshops led by experienced tutors and will learn to play instruments and record and write their own music. No musical experience is necessary – children are welcome to attend even if they’ve never tried anything musical before and they will even be able to take away a CD of their musical creations at the end of the day.
Remix, Bristol’s Youth Music Action Zone, is running the courses alongside Sing Up!, the government’s national singing programme. Both schemes are aimed at getting young people more involved with singing and music-making and are hosted by Colston Hall.
The sessions run from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 June and take place at 10-11.30am, 12pm-1.30pm and 2.30pm-4pm. The sessions cost £4 and 7-11 year olds can attend individual workshops or stay for the whole day for just £18. 4-6 year olds should be accompanied by an adult.
Places are limited but for availability contact Colston Hall Box Office on 0117 922 3686.
