MusicLeader South West was approached to work in partnership with Gloss Arts education agency, Sing Up, Forest of Dean Music Makers and Gloucester Music Forum to deliver training to 15 musicians so that the county would have music leaders with the skills to deliver work.
A major force working to support music leadership. MusicLeader exists to raise the quality, value and impact of music leadership in the UK.
Music Leader Advance is a workforce development project conceived and delivered by Colston Hall Education in partnership with MusicLeader. Selected senior practitioners will be given a range of training over a 6-12 month period. This will then be evaluated and adapted to be rolled-out for experienced, developing, and new practitioners.
Colston Hall is constantly looking for enthusiastic individuals to work with us on our programmes. Whether you are a classically trained musician, bass player, songwriter, DJ or producer we require a team with a variety of skills.
To be a Music Leader with us you will need to show an understanding of our ethos, be willing to volunteer for a short while, to undertake training and fully understand and commit to the Music Education Code of Practice. In addition you will be required to sign up to MusicLeader a unique national network, which supports the development of the Music Leading workforce. We are also interested in hearing from Youth Workers, Teachers and nursery staff who wish to integrate music more into their curriculum or activities.
We offer training and CPD to anyone who wishes to develop a career in Music Leading. We hold 2 annual Start-Up sessions, hosted by MusicLeader South West. We also put on a bi-annual Induction Day for all those wishing to become a CH Education Tutor.
If you are aged between 16 –19 and think you can help other young people develop their skills we have a group of Peer Mentors who work on all our projects and gain valuable experience in all aspects of workshop leading. We will also offer you training and some volunteer expenses.
