Colston Hall Bristol is proud to host for MusicLeader South West, the support service dedicated to the professional development of UK music leaders.

What is MusicLeader?
MusicLeader is a UK-wide Youth Music initiative and aims to provide access to training and professional development for music leaders at every stage of their career.

Youth Music is a UK-wide charity set up in 1999 to provide high quality and diverse music-making opportunities for 0-18 year olds. It targets young people living in areas of social and economic need who might otherwise lack opportunity and predominantly supports activities which are held outside school hours. MusicLeader aims to support practitioners to develop their skills and knowledge in order to deliver the best possible music-making opportunities for children and young people.

Will MusicLeader be useful for me?

• Do you have musical skills and want to start working with children or youth?
• Are you currently working in a profession that is music and youth focused and want to develop yourself professionally?
• Are you wanting to lead or co-ordinate a music project aimed at youth but don’t know where to source help and advice?

MusicLeader membership is ideal for anyone who leads or supports music activities aimed at benefiting young people.

School music teachers, community musicians, instrumental teachers, trainers, workshop leaders, facilitators, project managers or directors, administrators, coordinators, mentors, music delivery organisations and anyone else interested in working with children and young people.
