International soloist and chamber musician Penelope Roskell joins Bristol’s innovative Emerald Chamber Orchestra for a performance of Schumann’s poetic and lyrical Piano Concerto in A Minor. Penelope is widely known for her beautifully accomplished and imaginative playing and is highly regarded for her versatility across a wide range of classical musical styles and genres. She was first prize winner in the British Contemporary Piano Competition and her work with dance companies has recently included a season of solo performances of Mozart and Scott Joplin with Twyla Tharp at Sadlers Wells.
Joining Schumann’s Romantic masterpiece on the programme are Vaughan Williams’s The Wasps Overture, Corigliano’s Voyage and Mendelssohn’s exuberant 4th Symphony.
